Gas Flooding System
A gas flooding system is a fire suppression system that uses inert gases to extinguish fires by reducing the amount of oxygen in a space
A gas flooding system uses tanks or cylinders of pressurized gas, like carbon dioxide (CO2), to flood a space with gas. The gas displaces oxygen, which prevents the fire from continuing. Common gases used in gas flooding systems include CO2, FM200, HFC 227, and Novec 1230. CO2 is often used because it’s nonconductive, making it ideal for protecting electrical equipment.

Gas based fire suppression system CO2 based system
Co₂is a colorless gas with a density about 60% higher that of dry air, considered as best extinguishing gas. it suppresses oxygen by eliminating heat, Co is most effective as a fire extinguishing agent. NFPA-12 Rules and BIS 6382 Codes for design of such system are used as standard for co Extinguishing or flooding system. Co gaş generally stored in high pressure seamless steel cylinders is in liquid form with maximum filling ratio of 0.667 Kg Ltr of cylinder vetme. According to the fire hazard Co2 cylinder quantity varies. On hazards where several conders are required a manifold is used to connect each other by means of flexible hose and check valve. The cylinder’s master valve is electronically operated and the slave valve is pressure actuated. The master valve can be automatically or manually operated. Flow rate of Co controlled.
